The Changes
Of Junior, A Native American
Junior went through many changes at some point of the story emotional, bodily, and
mentally. From the start of the story, Junior become the type
of character to comply with a
person's
lead and that someone would be
Rowdy. Every time Rowdy had
an idea, Junior
would have always thought of it
first, however debating with
Rowdy was always impossible. When
Junior made his very own decision to
leave the res for training after he discovers that the book, they
have been the use of in college were as antique as his mother, he was called a traitor. After Arnold left the res,
he has become extra independent because
everything at Rearden become white
and foreign to him. at
some stage in
his first few days at his new faculty, Junior began getting called out
and picked on due to the fact he
was a Native American. When Roger makes his appearance, he says the most racist thing that Junior has ever
heard, and Junior was so dissatisfied that he had finally received the power and courage to
punch Roger in
the face.
Many different characters additionally helped influence Junior’s change, not just rowdy. Junior's New classmates
Gordy, Penelope and her friends all helped him change. The teachers also had some impact.
An example of this was when
Junior was opposed to the teacher's ideals and
Gordy defended Junior, from
that moment Junior then looked at Gordy
as more of a friend. Gordy turned into a very humorous and
intelligent person and taught Junior the way to enjoy a book recognize the
textual content and meanings of the book.
They each then begin
to study together, and Gory says that
books should supply him a
metaphorical boner. He additionally states that analyzing isn't just uncool, it is one
of the most exciting
parts of existence. Gordy is slowly converting the way Junior
thinks about books, training, and his very own
weird sense of humor.
Penelope is another character that changes Junior inside the story. Her loneliness and
choice to have a real friendship finally ends up being the deep meaning behind her
and Junior turning into
couples. Penelope is quiet, popular,
and could be very crucial to Junior. Penelope is Bulimic, and
Junior discovers this while he went to use the rest room and hears a loud noise
coming from the
opposite side of the wall. This
improves the connection they
have got because now Junior is worried
for her and her mystery. Penelope is supportive of Junior, even
though she didn't recognize the truth
about Junior. Although they may be
considered a couple, Penelope’s father states he is not afraid of disowning her
if she were to have a brown child.
Junior has been through an emotional rollercoaster with all
of the dying that has been
looming round him. Before everything,
his best friend Oscar the dog dies due to the fact he had
become ill and Junior's
father was forced to put him down with his rifle. Then his Grandma Spirit passed away as well. Junior became distraught because
his grandma meant everything to him. It became
stated within the story that
Grandma Spirit had been to many reservations, and she had met hundreds of people who all became her
friends. At some stage in her funeral even Rowdy showed up to pay his respect although he was
hiding in the back of a bush. A foreign white guy became exposed of his lies when he attempted to mention
that he owned one in all Grandma's Powwow costumes. Then now
not long after Grandma Spirit had died
, Mary Junior's sister died because someone had
left the burner on, and they had
been too intoxicated to
notice that they were being roasted alive in a RV. At this point, Arnold's mental health is simply
destroyed, he was going insane as at one point in the book, on his way home from school when his
dad had picked him up.
Junior has been through pretty much been
through any tragedy you can think
of at some stage in the novel.
